Major Production Unit: Pre-Production - Casting Adverts

Casting for Grit began in Mid-November of last year to give the pre-production stage as much time as possible to cast the best suited actors/actresses for the film. I didn't want a repeat of my Fiction Adaptation Unit where (through my own fault) adverts for the project went online two weeks prior to scheduled filming.

Myself and my producer, Roxanne, agreed that the production shall begin on January 25th: the Monday after our dissertation deadline to avoid multiple pressures overlapping. I created the adverts for the characters (Sean, Archie, Zoe, Perry and Trigg) and posted them onto casting website StarNow (a site I used previously for my Fiction Adaptation Unit) with a closing deadline for December 31st.

For the character details, I copied and pasted the bios I made last term so the applicants could get an understanding of their backstories.

To further expand the films' reach for actors I also made adverts for Casting Call Pro:

The details for the character details are the same as StarNow's with the information coming from the bios.

UPDATE #1:

Within a week there have been 3 auditions for Sean on StarNow and currently no applications on Casting Call Pro.

The actual process of casting our actors will be detailed in a separate post titled "Casting Auditions".

UPDATE #2:

Casting Call Pro has proven a good decision as there have been several applications for Zoe, Sean and Archie.

Applicants for the role of Sean

Not even a month has passed and we already have received a promising amount of interest, with 2 months until filming we should have plenty of people to choose from and conduct a strong auditioning process.
