Digital News Unit: Pre-Production - A Busy Week

Last week (29th September - 3rd October) was rather busy, on Tuesday we sat down and looked for a story by searching upcoming events being held in Kent:

The event was a food festival being held in Broadstairs which brings together local food producers to display their wares at stalls for the public to view and buy. All of the money made is used to fund the festival the next year.

This story is perfect for our channel as it was local, and relevant. There would also be lots of opportunities for cutaways if needs be, and areas we could set up the camera for the reporter to present their piece.

The only issue is was that the festival started on October 3rd to the 5th: this weekend.

So we quickly obtained the contact information and Aimee contacted the organiser, Jo Scott. Unfortunately her husband answered instead and said Jo was busy and to call back in the morning between 7 and 9am when she's available.

With a possible story we went home and started on preparing a script and interview questions.

I began work on the script and Aimee worked on some interview questions for Jo whilst Mike wrote a timeline so we could place ideas on what pieces to include in some form of an order.
